Maria Buti

Maria Buti earned her medical degree at the University of Barcelona and her PhD in Internal Medicine at the University “Autónoma” de Barcelona, Spain. She is currently Professor of Medicine and Chief of Internal Medicine and Hepatology at the Hospital General Universitari Valle Hebron, Barcelona. Dr Butí has worked in viral hepatitis for the last 35 years, particularly in diagnosis and therapy of hepatitis B and C. She has been published more than 300 papers the field of liver disease, with numerous papers and contributions to books.
Dr Butí is the vicepresident of the Spanish Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and an active member of the EASL, and the AASLD and various professional societies.

David Back

David Back is Professor (Emeritus) of Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool and has been at the forefront of studies on Pharmacokinetics and drug–drug interactions of some key areas of drug therapy including oral contraceptives, anti-HIV drugs and drugs for treatment of Hepatitis C. David has authored ~450 publications. He is a former Editor in chief of the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. In 2007 he was awarded the Lilly Prize from the British Pharmacological Society for outstanding contribution to Clinical Pharmacology and in 2015 a Lifetime achievement award from EACS.

Mario Mondelli

Mario Mondelli is Professor of Infectious Diseases at Pavia University, Italy. He is a former Secretary of the European Association for the Study of the Liver, former editor of the Journal of Hepatology, former President of the Infectious Diseases Section of the European Union of Medical Specialists and former President of the International Association for the Study of the Liver.

Cihan Yurdaydin

Professor Yurdaydin was an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Hepatology from 1995 to 2000 and has been Editor-in-Chief of The Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology from 1999 until December 2013. He was an Associate Editor for Liver International from 2010 to 2013 and is currently on the Editorial Board of the UEG Journal and Hepatology International. Prof.Yurdaydin has published and has served as a reviewer in peer reviewed journals such as Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology, Lancet and The New England Journal of Medicine. He has served in the Scientific Committee of EASL between 2000 and 2003 and as Education Councillor from 2013 to 2015. He has also served the World Gastroenterology Organization at various positions and was the President of this organization between 2017 and 2019.
